Very rare watch: a manually-wind vintage Angelus Chronodato 18k solid-gold triple-date two-register chronograph, manufactured in Switzerland in 1940's. Very few of these watches were made in solid 18k gold and hard to find nowadays.
The big-size 38 x 46 mm (not counting a winding crown) 18k gold case with fancy-shaped lugs is in excellent condition.
The top pusher starts and stops the chronograph and the bottom one resets to zero.
The watch has three calendar adjusters: the top one between lugs changes the month, the bottom one between lugs changes the day of the week, and the one on the left side changes the date and the day of the week together.

The 100% original champagne-color dial turned in a nice tropical tone, and is in very good for this age condition. All the scales, signs and markings are intact and legible. The dial has two subdials: left for the constantly running seconds, right is the 45-minute chronograph's counter. The watch has the capability to measure one 5th of a second intervals via dial calibration.
The watch is equipped with a triple-date calendar, the remarkable achievement for that time, and shows the month and the day of the week in English in unusually located up-down apertures, and the date by the red arrow-end hand on the outer scale.

The movement used in this watch is a hand built, manual-wind, 17 jewels Angelus caliber 217, an own development of Angelus Watch Co. Every technical luxury present on this movement, including column wheel and carrying arm. The watch is good running, with all the chronograph and calendar functions and adjusters working as it should, after a full overhaul and service that we just did.
The watch is fitted with a brand new high quality lizard band and is ready to wear and enjoy.
This historical timepiece would be an excellent financial investment, always raising its value.

One of the important manufacturers of mechanical chronograph's golden era, the Angelus Watch Company was founded in Le Locle Switzerland in 1891 by Stolz Freres S.A., and won many awards for it's highly complicated watches.
This brand was among very few companies produced its own in-house high-end chronograph movements, that are considered among the 10 best mechanical chronograph's movements of the last century, very collectible nowadays.
